Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning wheel and refers to the wheels of light energy located along the midline of our body. The chakras regulate our flow of energy and reflect how we choose to respond to situations and conditions of our life. Beginning with the root chakra at the base of the spine and continuing up the spine to the crown at the top of the head, these chakras are energy portals through which psychological and spiritual energies flow in the mind-body interface. Each chakra has its interaction with a part of the body and its purpose.

Suggested Use:  A small amount of ginger added to a blend can help with meditation and grounding.  Some perfumers like to add ginger for spicy sensuality.  Ginger is also commonly used to help with digestive upset.  Use it topically, diluted in a carrier oil to help warm tissue and improve fluid flow.  For a nice blend to help improve circulation, combine ginger, black pepper, and peppermint.  Dilute to 2% in a carrier oil, which equals about 10 drops of essential oil per ounce of carrier oil such as sweet almond, coconut, jojoba, or olive oil.
